You may want to check out this book. I wrote one of the stories included in this anthology. Book launching is on November 6. Thursday. 6 pm at Powerbooks in Greenbelt 3 (Makati City). It costs Php250.00 each. As it says in the poster below (sorry I know it’s not easy to read) the book is an anthology of personal experiences of everyday volunteers culled from the Hands On Manila Volunteer Chronicles writing contest. It was I think the first writing contest I joined - aside from school contests of course. My essay was actually what I wrote for HSBC after being sent as an Earthwatch fellow to Oxford. England to spend my time watching badgers and catching mice which I think was the title of my piece. It won honorable mention in the contest and the chance to be published in this anthology. The book contains stories from celebrities such as Karen Davila. Marc Nelson and Chris Tiu. I can’t wait to get my hands on this book just to see my name in print and to read the volunteer experiences of other people.

So for the last 4 weeks I've been taking terbutaline pills to help stop my contractions. Terbutaline is an asthma medicine that relaxes smooth muscles (including the uterus) the doctor's often bring down for preterm labor. It was working pretty well up until labor day (see labor day affix below). Since then. I was having contractions breaking through the pills. So they decided to put me on a terbutaline pump that delivers the care for constantly into my body. I undergo to stick my leg with this little beset that inserts a small catheter just under the skin then the beset comes out. The furnish connected to the pump hooks up to the catheter and the pump delivers a very small stabilise dose of terbutaline (0.06mg/hour). Every 4 hours it delivers a large dose of 0.24mg and if any measure my contractions are getting bad. I can have it mouth the larger process as long as it's been at least an hour since my measure large process. The pump has a case that clips to my pants and a bag I put it in when I act a consume. I only have to change the catheter every 5 days so at least I don't have to stick myself every day. I have to dress out the medicine cartridge daily though but they send me all the stuff by fedex weekly. It seems to be working really well so far. My contractions are coming about 2-3 an hour they go up a bit the hour before my large process is due usually but as soon as I get that they taper off. The first night it turned out I didn't undergo the tubing connected completely and all the care for leaked out. Then when I woke up I was contracting desire crazy. I realized it was leaking so I changed the injection place and reconnected everything. I strapped on my monitor and holy cow. I was having 10 contractions an hour. The care for about freaked out and made me furnish myself a large dose and consume a quart of water (yes a quart) and remonitor. Luckily they slowed down to 3 an hour once the medicine was being delivered correctly.
